Build a
Website
on Canva

Your website is your digital business card. It lives online 24/7, shows the world what you can do, and grows with you as your skills grow.

Open Canva

  • Go to canva.com and sign in.
  • Click Create a design.
  • Search Website and select it.

Choose a Template

  • Browse and pick one that feels close to your style.
  • Click it to open in the editor.

Make It Yours

  • Double-click any text to edit it.
  • Change the colors and fonts to match your style.

Adding Your Designs

  • Go to any design in Canva — shirts, logos, posters, flyers, anything.
  • Click Share, then Download. Choose PNG as the file type.
  • In your website editor, go to the Uploads tab.
  • Upload the downloaded image, then drag it onto your section.
  • The more work you show, the stronger your portfolio looks.

Build Your 5 Sections

  • At the bottom of the editor, click + Add section to add a new section.
  • Section 1 — Intro: your name and logo.
  • Section 2 — About: who you are and who you aspire to be.
  • Example: David Nudelman is an aspiring Graphic Designer and Brand Owner based out of Staten Island.
  • Section 3 — Design Examples: show your shirt design and any other work you have created.
  • Section 4 — More Designs: think beyond shirts — logos, posters, flyers, graphics, anything you have made.
  • Section 5 — Contact: feel free to add your email or social media. No phone numbers.
  • Tip: give each section a different background color to help break them up visually.

Preview on Mobile

  • Click the eye icon at the top right to preview.
  • Toggle to the phone icon to check mobile view.
  • Make sure Resize on mobile is turned on.

Publish

  • Click Publish Website in the top corner.
  • Use the free Canva domain: your-name.my.canva.site
  • Share your link with the class.
